Changes to South Australian gambling legislation, passed by parliament in 2019, became effective on 3 December 2020.

These changes include:

  • new Gambling Codes of Practice
  • changes to EFTPOS withdrawal limits
  • the ability for patrons to be barred either for a specified timeframe or indefinite period
  • new guidlines for applications for new gaming licences
