Gaming Training Obligations

Gaming Managers and Gaming Employees

Under the Gambling Code of Practice (Code) any person appointed and notified via BOEN (Barring Online Employee Notification system) as a gaming employee or gaming manager is required to undertake specific training within a specified time, with a requirement that training be undertaken every 2 years.  

While the training requirements relate to individual gaming employees and gaming managers, the Code imposes an obligation on the gaming licensee to ensure that all gaming staff at their venue are trained.

Licensees will need to monitor when staff require training every two years to ensure that compliance is achieved.  

Under the Code, gaming training must be recognised by the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner.
