The Advertising Codes of Practice require licensees to include an expanded warning message on all gambling advertising. The use of the expanded message should be the norm rather than the exception. Where it is not reasonable or practicable to include the expanded warning message, the condensed message ‘Gamble Responsibly.1800 858 858’ is be used.

Please note that when using the condensed message the 1800 858 858 telephone number is to be included. This includes radio, television, print media, outdoor signage (other than permitted external signage) etc.

The current message, “Don’t chase your losses. Walk away. Gamble responsibly”, expires on 30 June 2018 so it is now time to plan for the next one that will come into effect on 1 July 2018 and will cover the six month period to 31 December 2018.  The next expanded warning message is:

“Don’t let the game play you.  Stay in control.

 Gamble Responsibly.”
